St George’s Centre is fully operational with our regular users returning but remains available again for booking during the day, in the evening and at weekends.
To hire the Main Hall contact the Centre Administrator, Glenda Stevens and provide details of the date and time you wish to hire –
(Please note the Centre Administrator is the only person at St George’s who can deal with bookings for the Centre.
There are about 25 parking bays (including 2 for disabled users) in front of our building.
Parking on surrounding roads is also possible.
The Centre is normally used regularly in the evenings for uniformed organisations, Slimming World, Gloucester Amateur Gardening Society and Charter Concert band rehearsals. Coffee Pot meets on a Tuesday morning, a Day Centre on a Thursday, with Aphasia Now and Speakability using the Centre during the day time.
Some of our Church groups occasionally use the halls for meetings during the evenings.
There is often availability at weekends for children’s parties, family celebrations and concerts etc.
Rooms can be hired Monday to Friday from 9.00am onwards, Saturdays from 8:30am until 11:00pm and Sundays from 1:00pm until 10.00pm. During school holidays and half terms there is more scope for hiring the hall(s) on weekday evenings.
The Main Hall measures 60ft by 30ft (18m by 9m) and can seat up to 100. The capacity is limited to 125 for standing events.
The Small Hall measures 28ft by 23ft (9m by 7m) which is normally an ideal size for a family get together
The Softley Lounge measures 15ft by 15ft (4.5m by 4.5m) is carpeted and also has more comfortable chairs.
There is a well equipped kitchen with servery counters opening onto both the Main and Small Halls.
Each hall and lounge areas are accessible to wheelchair users. Tables and chairs plus crockery and glasses are available as part of the hire.

Currently the rates to hire a hall :
Main Hall £25.00 per hour; inc. kitchen use
Small Hall £15.00 per hour;
Softley Lounge £10.00 per hour
Small Hall and Softley Lounge together £20.00 per hour
Regular hirers who use the Hall(s) more than three times a year and who include children or vulnerable adults in their activities are obliged to give a copy of their Safeguarding policy to the Safeguarding Officer as a condition of their hire.
